PEACE

(DAY 2 of 7) Albert Estevez
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." – Matthew 6:33 NIV

Think

Pilots in training were once given a simulation to fly through a mountain range. Some were told, “Don’t hit the mountains.” Others were told, “Fly the airplane—watch the horizon and your instruments.”
The results? Those focused on avoiding the mountains often crashed into them. But those focused on flying successfully made it through. Why? Because where your focus goes, your life follows.
Jesus teaches the same in Matthew 6:33. Instead of being consumed with worry about tomorrow, He calls us to fix our attention on Him. When we seek first the kingdom of God, everything else finds its place.
Isaiah 26:3 promises, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Paul echoes in Philippians 4:6-7 that God’s peace will guard our hearts and minds when we bring everything to Him in prayer.
Peace doesn’t come from removing every obstacle. It comes from shifting our gaze from fear to faith and from problems to the Prince of Peace. When your life is centered on Jesus, your priorities align, your anxiety lessens, and your purpose becomes clear. Seeking His kingdom isn’t about perfection—it’s about pursuit. Every time you choose prayer over panic, trust over control, and worship over worry, you’re choosing His kingdom first.

Act

As this new year begins, ask yourself: Am I staring at the mountains in my life, or am I seeking God’s kingdom first?
Choose today to:
  1. Fix your eyes on His promises.
  2. Trust His faithfulness over your fears.
  3. Surrender control to the One who is sovereign.

Pray

Father, thank you for being faithful. Help me to take my eyes off the mountains in front of me and fix them on you. Teach me to seek your kingdom first in all I do. Fill me with your peace as I trust you with my future. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Worship

Spend some time worshiping the Lord.
Come back tomorrow for day 3!
